Boy am I getting bad at remembering to post these Items of the Week! Sorry! This week it’s sugar. The idea of going without sugar is just so very sad and tragic. This is one item you want to have on hand. I recommend at least 5 lbs. per person. Make sure you tell the cashier at the grocery store that you have a big sweet tooth and see how weird of a look she gives you.
On an unrelated note, it’s St. Patrick’s Day today. I have not a drop of Irish blood in me. Nor does my husband. And we don’t drink. Or know any mischievous little people.* So I can’t quite muster up the excitement for this third-tier holiday. It’s also Spring Break for us this week which means that things are a little haphazard. But I did buy some Lucky Charms.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day. Erin go Bragh.
*We do like rainbows and pots of gold, though!
Now this is one item I have PLENTY of.
I just bought a 10 lb bag. But I'm going to the cannery tonight to get some #10 cans of flour, so I'll get a few of sugar too.

Do some genealogy. You're Irish. It might only be about 1%, but there are shamrocks in your blood.
